Purpose
We invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end.
Layton 37th Ward Mission Plan
As we love, share, and develop friendships with all within the ward, we will work with and invite the full-time missionaries to meet with friends of the Church to teach them the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. We will minister to all alike, be they members or not. We will not be shy about sharing how living the restored gospel blesses us.
The ward missionary committee will meet briefly every week to discuss how to help the ward members do their part and to coordinate activities and visits. The ward mission leader will meet monthly with the ward council at the request of the Bishop.
The ward council will plan a ward activity at least once-per-quarter and the missionary committee will work with the ward council to ensure that all friends of the church are invited and feel a part of the ward and neighborhood.
The ward members will focus on the Book of Mormon in their own homes and in open discussion with others, be they believers or not. We share the restored gospel of Jesus Christ by sharing the Book of Mormon and what it means to us.
110 + Ways to
Love, Share, Invite
The list below is collected from several sources and represents only a starting point for coming up with things you can do to share the gospel with others. We hope this list provides revelation for you individually and opens discussions in your ward. “If you want to teach more people, you have to talk with more people.” (Elder Ballard) Talk with everyone!
“We are all in this together. With fellow ward members and missionaries, we plan and pray and help one another. Please keep the full-time missionaries in your thoughts and prayers. Trust them with your family and friends. The Lord trusts them and has called them to teach and bless those who seek Him.” Elder Neil L. Andersen.
“Whatever our age, capacity, Church calling, or location, we are as one, called to the work to help Him in His harvest of souls until He comes again.” President Henry B. Eyring
“There is nothing happening on this earth right now that is more important than that. There is nothing of greater consequence. Absolutely nothing. This gathering should mean everything to you. This is the mission for which you were sent to earth.” Pres. Russell M. Nelson
“Brothers and sisters, the gospel of Jesus Christ has never been needed more than it is today.” Pres. Russell M. Nelson
“My beloved brothers and sisters, we have spoken today of three simple things – easy things – that anyone can do. Things you can do! Perhaps you are already doing them – even without fully realizing that you are! I invite you to consider ways you can love, share, and invite. As you do so, you will feel a measure of joy knowing that you are heeding the words of our beloved Savior. What I am urging you to do is not a new program. You have heard these principles before. This is not the “next big thing the Church is asking you to do. These three things are merely an extension of who we already are as disciples of Jesus Christ. No name badge or letter is required. No formal calling is needed. As these three things become a natural part of who we are and how we live, they will become an automatic, unforced expression of genuine love.” Elder Gary E. Stevenson
